What's In The Poker Odds Calculator

Keeping with Poker Academy's mission to provide new and innovative ways to improve everyone's Texas Hold'em poker experience and their chances of winning more often, software developer Graham McEvoy authored a new online gadget called the "Poker Odds Calculator" made available for free via the Google Desktop Toolbar.

The Poker Odds Calculator

The Poker Odds Calculator provides a quick and easy way to calculate your Hold'em poker odds, that is, the chances of a hand winning, tying, or losing. Users simply select a hand and up to nine opponent starting hands and optional board cards. Then click "Calculate" to view how each hand stacks up. Results can be viewed through the main view screen or in a table view to quickly compare all hands.

"We're pleased to make this valuable innovative tool available to all Texas Hold'em players via the Google Desktop Sidebar," said Kurt Lange, president and CEO of Poker Academy, the leading developer of poker training software with world renowned artificial intelligence inside. "What's so great about The Poker Calculator is that it's always available and pumps out information fast. We're confident users will find its compact size easy to use while still being good eye candy."

Using the Poker Odds Calculator

To download the free application, go to http://www.poker-academy.com/poker-odds/. This gadget requires Google Desktop 4 or above.

Calculator within Poker Academy Pro

Poker Academy Pro is poker training software, designed for the serious rounder. This product boasts the most advanced poker AI available. Poker Academy Pro also features an abundance of tools for hand and playing analysis.

The Hand Evaluator does much more than determine the odds of a hand beating a random hand. This tool actually runs simulations of hands that is based on the opponent tightness. So theoretically you could lose pocket kings to a 94o, but against tight opposition this is very unlikely. The Hand Evaluator takes this into effect during the simulations, and returns results based on the number of opponents.

The Showdown Calculator performs much the same as the Poker Odds Calculator. It allows a variable number of hands to be entered (along with the option to enter the board), and the outcome odds of each hand is determined. This tool is particularly handy while playing Poker Academy Pro, as the hand values can be automatically loaded to compute these results very easily.
