PAO has Shootout Tournaments

PAO now has Shootout Tournaments

Poker Academy Pro and Standard just received a new release. This update contains some prominent features to further improve the experience on PAO (Poker Academy Online).

Shootout Tournaments

A shootout tournament is a special variant of a multi-table tournament. For each table in the tournament, only the winner of that table advances to the next round. So there is no table balancing, and to continue in the tournament you must win this table. A shootout tournament can be limited to an arbitrary number of players per table, including the 2 player Heads-Up tournament.

Shootout tournaments can now be created with ease on PAO. While anyone can play in the shootout tournaments, this creation feature is only seen by PA Pro users (in the "Create Table" options). After choosing to create a tournament, the shootout tournament option appears on the right side. Make sure to set the number of players per table and total players in the tournament and whammo - a shootout tournament is born.

New Look for Online Lobby

The Online Lobby underwent some layout changes. PAX information is displayed more prominently along with chat. The table list has been enlarged and has received fresh new icons - a big thanks to PA regular Jimi for donating the fantastic icons. The lobby also features a small Quick-Help section to make it easier to learn about PAO and the PAX system.

PAO Information

All of the other PAO information can now be found by selecting the "Info" tab. It's a little harder to find the news and ratings, but reading them should be a whole lot easier. As PAO continues to grow, the full user-list was having a negative result and making it more difficult to find your friends. The new user search provides a quick way to find people.

Chat Options

Poker Academy is thrilled to have a growing global presence on PA Online. The French users in particular represent a strong part of our community and to accommodate the different languages we have added lobby chat channels. Each user can specify the channel they would like to talk and listen on.
