Tables

You will find many tables of information throughout Prospector. The rows of these tables are coloured green when representing a gain of chips—a winning session or a player you won money from for example—and red when indicating a loss of chips. Note that table rows alternate light and dark colours simply to visually separate them, i.e. a darker green does not represent a bigger win. If you don't like our default colours or you are red-green colour blind, you can change these in the preferences screen accessible from the Overview tab.

Some of the column titles are not obvious at first glance. For a more detailed description of what is calculated in a particular column hover the mouse over the title and wait for a tooltip to appear. You will also find tooltips on some of the data cells in a table. For example, the tabular hand browser will show you the player's hold'em hand when you hover over their hole cards and in the Player Comparison, the tooltip gives you the calculation performed for that cell.

The data displayed in a particular table may be controlled by the selection in the table above as in the case of the database tab and by any table selection settings that appear directly above the table when they are available. You can sort a table by a particular column by clicking on the column's title.

Some tables allow you to show and hide particular columns. In some cases we provide alternate calculations for similar data, so you may wish to switch off the ones you are not interested in. Do this via the menu available by clicking the green ball in the corner of the table. You can also rearrange the order of the columns by dragging them around.

You can perform an action on multiple rows in a table by selecting them all at once. To select contiguous rows, you can either click and drag through the rows or hold down shift and click the first and the last row you are interested in. To select individual rows, hold down control while clicking each row. The round buttons beside the table will perform actions based on your current selection.

Double-clicking a row in a table will generally do something you'd expect. For example, double-clicking your name in the database tab will load your player stats for the selected session or sessions.

Window Display and Navigation

Once you have imported hands and you are comfortable with Prospectors various tabs and windows, you will probably find it more useful to jump directly to a specific tab when you launch the program. To always show your current bankroll graph when you start up, choose My Stats from the "Starting Page" menu on the Options tab.

You can collapse panes by clicking in the pane's yellow title bar. If you only ever play on one poker site, you might want to collapse the "Sites" pane of the database tab. To make this faster and less flashy, turn off the animation in the preferences available on the Options tab.

Between 2 sections of some tabs is a resizeable split pane handle. To resize the pane by grabbing this bar and dragging it. Clicking the small arrows will minimize or maximize the bottom pane.

A magnifying glass icon indicates that you can view this information in more detail in the player stats window. Clicking this icon in a report will bring up a player stats window with the appropriate filters already appied so you can view the hands hilighted by that area of the report. As mentioned above, double-clicking a row in a table will also bring up additional relevent information.
