Number of Players

The number of players at the table or active in the current hand will typically alter your playing style. For example, the more players
at the table the higher the average winning hand will need to be. In other words, a strong hand heads-up (2 players) may be a very vulnerable
when facing a full table (10 players). Being mindful of the number of players at the table is an essential skill that every holdem
player should possess.
The '# Players' tab presents your data sorted on the number of players active at each stage. Use the graph and table to investigate
and monitor your performance relative to number of opponents you face.
By default, the data is based on the number of players preflop. Another way of thinking of this is the number of players who were
dealt cards. To view your data at different stages of the game, such as flop, turn and river, use the drop down menu at the top of
the tab as seen below.
A few points to keep in mind:
- Heads Up refers to two players.
- Short Handed (6-max) is a popular format and refers to tables with 6 seats. Hands are typically played with 3-6 players
- Full Table refers to tables with 10 seats and hands are typically played between 7-10 players
- PPS Tip: Change the Num Active Players at Stage Filter to [Flop]. The more people see the flop, the bigger the pot, but also the stronger the hand will be needed to win a showdown.
